A two-day parliamentary-style scientific debate competition where students challenged scientific ideas through evidence-based argument and critical thinking.

The Scientific Debate was organised, hosted, managed and judged entirely by the Bloomfield Hall Science Society's Science Council. Designed around a parliamentary debate format with minor modifications, the event encouraged participants to analyse complex scientific issues from multiple perspectives.
Over two days, 50 participants competed in 10 teams of five in a knockout-format tournament. Teams went head to head in parliamentary-style debates, with winners advancing through successive rounds until the final debate determined the champions.
Each matchup was assigned a scientific motion through a random draw, requiring teams to prepare multiple topics in advance.
