Terms of
Use
These terms govern your use of this website. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you rely on it - we would rather explain than have you guess.
1. Who we are
This site is run by the Bloomfield Hall Science Society ("the Society", "we", "us"), a student-led science society of Bloomfield Hall School. The Society is run by students, with the support of the school. It is not a registered company and does not trade.
The official address of this site is bhsciencesociety.com, and our official social account is @bhsciencesociety on Instagram. We are not responsible for anything published about the Society elsewhere.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By using this site you accept these terms. If you apply for membership or create an account, you accept them again at that point, and you confirm that what you have told us is true.
3. Students under 18
Most of the people who use this site are school students, and many are under 18.
- If you are under 18, you may browse the public pages freely.
- If you are under 18 and want to apply for membership or create an account, you must have permission from a parent or guardian first. By applying, you confirm you have it.
- A parent or guardian may write to us at any time to withdraw that permission, and we will close the account and delete the application. See the Privacy Policy Code of Conduct.
4. Membership applications and accounts
- Applying does not guarantee membership. We may accept or decline any application, and we do not have to give a reason.
- Accounts are personal. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
- You are responsible for what happens through your account.
5. What you may not do here
Do not:
- break the law, or use the site to help anyone else do so;
- submit anything false, abusive, threatening, obscene, or designed to harass or embarrass another person;
- impersonate anyone, or apply on someone else's behalf without their knowledge;
- try to get into parts of the site, or anyone's account, that are not yours;
- probe, scan or overload the site, or attempt to interfere with how it runs;
- scrape or copy the site's content in bulk, or republish it as your own;
- upload anything containing malware.
We may suspend or remove an account, or block access, if any of this happens. Where conduct is serious we may report it to the school or to the authorities.
6. Content on this site
The text, reports, designs, graphics, logo and code on this site belong to the Society or to the people who made them, and are protected by copyright. Articles carry the name of the student who wrote them, and those students keep the credit for their own work.
You are welcome to read, link to, quote and share our pages, and to cite our event reports, as long as you attribute the Society and do not present the work as your own. Anything beyond that - reproducing pages wholesale, or using our name or logo to suggest we endorse something - needs our permission in writing.
Names and logos of schools, sponsors and partner organisations belong to them, and appear here to record who took part.
7. Photographs and event media
Our event pages carry photographs taken at Society events, published to record what happened and to show prospective partners and funders our work.
If you appear in a photograph on this site, or you are the parent or guardian of a child who does, and you would like it removed, write to us through the contact page. Tell us which page and which photograph, and we will take it down. We will not ask you to justify the request.
8. Events
Details of events on this site - dates, venues, categories, prizes - are what we expect at the time of publishing, and can change. Taking part in an event is subject to whatever rules and consent forms we issue for that event, and those take precedence over anything written here.
9. Links to other sites
Where we link somewhere else, we do not control that site and are not responsible for it. Following an external link is your own decision.
10. The site is provided as it is
We work hard to keep this site accurate and available, but we are a student society, not a commercial service. We do not promise that the site will always be up, that it will be free of errors, or that everything on it is complete and current. Content may be changed or removed at any time.
11. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Society, its members, its office holders and the school are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, or from your inability to use it - including lost data, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the site after a change means you accept the revised version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts at Peshawar have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
14. Getting in touch
Questions about these terms, or anything on this site, can go through the contact page.
